Recipe: Nourishing Pasture-Fed Lamb Bone Broth


  • 2 pounds lamb bones
  • 1 onion, roughly chopped
  • 2 carrots, roughly chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, roughly chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, smashed
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 teaspoon black peppercorns
  • Cold water
  • Salt, to taste
  • Fresh herbs (thyme, rosemary, or parsley), for garnish (optional)


  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the pasture-fed lamb bones on a baking sheet and roast them for 30-40 minutes until they turn golden brown. This step enhances the flavor of the broth.
  2. Transfer the roasted bones to a large stockpot or slow cooker.
  3. Add the roughly chopped onion, carrots, celery, smashed garlic cloves, bay leaves, and black peppercorns to the pot with the bones.
